Sometime back we received a call from an upset tenant about not having hot water in their home. We immediately dispatched maintenance to go see what was going on. Our tech was able to fix a problem with the hot water heater, and everything was good. We thought. The tenant called later that evening even more upset and now angry that there still wasn’t any hot water. Our manager calmly explained that our maintenance tech had been there and fixed the water heater that afternoon, and that there should be no problem with the hot water. The tenant stopped for a moment and replied that one of their roommates was taking a shower and that they wouldn’t be taking a cold shower, so I guess the hot water must be working. Communication is key.
